HALLOWELL – Lewiston Blue Demons continued their early-season success with a 7-1 victory over Winslow in the Northern Maine Middle School Hockey League at Kennebec Ice Arena.
Lauren Lessard opened the scoring in the frst period with assists from linemates Jared Lapierre and Tommy Lepage. After an answer by Winslow, Devin Harrison buried the rebound of Coleman Morency’s shot for a 2-1 Lewiston lead.
In the second period it was Cameron Marquis getting on the board for the Demons (5-0), Shawn Gagnier and Cameron Boucher assisting.
Four goals put it out of reach in the third period. Austin Obie notched an unassisted tally. Tyler Houle connected with a hard shot from the point off a feed from Lapierre. Dixon Dilodovico struck on a tip-in, courtesy of Harrison and Morency. Gagnier cashed in on a nice feed from Marquis.
The defensive pairing of Nick Perreault and Kianna Turmenne along with goaltender Caleb Dostie stifled Winslow’s offense throughout.
Lewiston will be back in action Dec. 28 (3:10 p.m.) at KIA against Maranacook, followed by a rare Monday night game Dec. 29 (5:15 p.m.) at Ingersoll Arena in Auburn versus Leavitt.
