KENTS HILL – Maranacook Squirts posted a pair of impressive victories over the first weekend of the new year, routing Fairfield Ice Dogs, 12-3, and storming past Central Maine Youth Hockey, 9-3.

Joey Baumann scored four goals against Fairfield, while Brandon Coulombe also notched a hat trick. Zack Godbout scored twice for Maranacook (14-4), with single goals by Hunter Tims, Mat Welch and Jason St. Pierre.

Tyler Lewis lit the lamp all three times for Fairfield. Welch notched two Maranacook assists, with one each for Godbout, Baumann and Bailey Stockford. Jack Vickerson was the winning goaltender.

Welch and Baumann each produced a hat trick in the win over Central Maine. Coulombe also scored along with Patrick Miller and Nick Cerullo. Baumann posted a pair of assists. Coulombe, Welch, Godbout and Zack Davidson added one apiece.

Zachary Smith scored each Central Maine goal. Glendon Tibbetts and Samuel Haver registered assists. St. Pierre shone in the Maranacook goal.
