HANOVER, N.H. – Edward Little High School junior Christie Bernier led her two Maine Racewalkers Club training partners, Abby Dunn of Auburn and Nicole Court-Menendez of Lewiston, to a clean sweep of gold, silver, and bronze at the collegiate/open one-mile women’s racewalk at the Dartmouth College relays.

Bernier, who just returned from two weeks of training in an elite Training camp in Pharr, Texas, won the mile racewalk in 8:16.50. Dunn, an EL freshman, was second in 8:25.79, followed by Lewiston High freshman Nicole Court-Menendez in 8:57.39. All three are coached by Nicole’s father, Tom Menendez.

At the same venue, Boothbay Region High School junior Matthew Forguesled three fellow club athletes in a sweep of the first four places in the collegiate/open men’s racewalk in a time of 7:01.41 for the mile. Lisbon senior Tyler Campbell was second in 7:35.08, followed by Maranacook Community School sophomore Evan Vincent in 7:43.72 and Falmouth High junior Charlie Swerdlow in 8:20.77. Mt Blue High School sophomore Fairfield Bonsall captured sixth place in 8:55.46 to round out the Maine accomplishments.
