LEWISTON – The Andy Valley Umpires are looking for new umpires. Anyone interested can come to the first meeting on Sunday, March 1, at 6 p.m. at the Lewiston Armory (please use the Vale St. entrance). Individuals must at least 17-year-old. For more information, call Tony Gowell at 375-6592.
The umpires will meet on Sunday, March 1 at 6 p.m. and Monday, March 2 at 7 p.m. The meeting will go for two hours, and dues will be collected. Meeting will follow the next four weeks on Sundays and Mondays.
YMCA plans course to certify lifeguards
AUBURN – The Auburn/Lewiston YMCA will hold a lifeguard certification course beginning Tuesday, Feb. 17 during school vacation week.
The course fee is $215 and includes course materials. The program runs every day through Sunday, Feb. 22, beginning at 9 a.m.
Individuals must be at least age 15, and be able to swim 300-yard continouos swim – 100-yard front crawl, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard front crawl or breaststroke. Swimmers must also be able to swim 20 yards, dive 7-10 feet and retrieve a 10-pound brick, return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to the starting point.

Umpires set meeting with softball teams
LEWISTON – The Andy Valley Umpires will hold a meeting for all Lewiston softball leagues on Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lewiston Armory.
