AUBURN – The L/A Senior Hockey League announces the formation of summer leagues for men and women. Players must be 18 years of age or older, and player caliber is restricted. Games will be played Friday and Sunday nights starting at 6:15 p.m. The season will start the weekend of April 24 and end in late August, comprising an 18-game schedule.

Fee for players already registered in LASHL for the 2008-09 season is $250. Fee for non-registered players is $275, and those players must register. All fees and registrations must be complete before the first game.

Registration will be held at Ingersoll Arena from 6 to 9 p.m. on the following dates: Friday, March 27; Sunday, March 29; Friday, April 10; and Sunday, April 12. YMCA T-Ball program starts Saturday morning

AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA is offering a T-ball instructional program for boys and girls ages 4 to 6. The program starts Saturday, March 7 and ends Saturday, April 11. The program will have two sessions, one from 9 to 10 a.m. and another from 10 to 11 a.m., held in the gymnasium at the Y. The program is designed to teach the children the basic skills needed to play T-ball. Children will learn proper techniques for throwing, fielding, hitting, and running the bases. Children should supply their own gloves and wear appropriate footwear. No cleats, please. Registration is under way and may be completed at the front desk of the YMCA.

Baseball fantasy trip tickets available

WATERVILLE – Alfond Youth Center will sponsor its eighth-annual baseball fantasy trip in August. Spectators will see three new ballparks, including both New York stadiums, on the journey.

The trip runs Tuesday, August 4 through Saturday, August 8, ending with a Red Sox-Yankees game at the new Yankee Stadium. Stops also are scheduled for Philadelphia and Washington. Price per person is $775, including everything but the evening meal. Payment may be spread out over six months with a $175 down payment. An adult must accompany any child making the trip.
