AUBURN – YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston and the YWCA of Central Maine announce the start of the 2009 Summer Swim Team Season. The TCST Sea Lions are a co-ed swim team for kids ages 5-18, with the only requirement that participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards). TCST emphasizes the development of each individual in accordance with his/her abilities and desires.
Both organizations are now accepting registrations, and participants must register at both the YMCA & YWCA. There is no registration deadline. Registration remains open throughout the season.
Those who register must be members in good standing at each organization, and the summer program fee is $85 payable to the YMCA and $65 payable to the YWCA.
The Twin Cities Summer Swim Team begins May 11 and continues through July.
Upon registration, all participants will receive a practice schedule.

Umpires to meet
LEWISTON – Andy Valley Softball Umpires Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Multi-Purpose Building on Birch Street. The agenda will include a review of April softball and upcoming information regarding recreational softball leagues in Lewiston and Auburn. High School Federation softball and Junior Olympic play also will be discussed. Also on the agenda is discussion of our tournament which provides scholarships for local high school seniors.
LHS youth baseball clinic set for May 31
LEWISTON – Lewiston High School bseball will be conducting a youth baseball clinic for players between the ages of 8 and 12 on Sunday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lewiston High School gym. Softball tourney
LISBON – Lisbon High School Athletic Boosters and Lisbon Junior Athletic League will host a one-pitch softball tournament Sunday, May 17. It will be a coed format with a six-team, double-elimination bracket. Fee is $200 per team.
