BANGOR (AP) – Police say a boot placed on a truck for unpaid parking tickets didn’t stop a Millinocket lawyer from trying to drive away.
Forty-eight-year-old Michael Harman was charged with criminal mischief on Friday for allegedly damaging the Bangor Police Department’s vehicle immobilization device, according to the Bangor News.
Police say Harman, who had at least three unpaid parking tickets, also damaged his truck.
Sgt. Paul Edwards says that along with the device to disable the vehicle, police also put an orange notice in the front windshield.
He says after the incident, Harman paid his parking tickets and both he and his vehicle were released.
