WINCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A Winchester, N.H., family is outraged after a judge agreed that a Swanzey man who caused a deadly car crash should be released from prison early.
Last year, Cheshire County Superior Court Judge Brian Tucker tacked extra time onto Henri Pletzner’s sentence becasue of a lengthy driving record, but now he believes Pletzner should be placed on home confinement after serving a little more than a year of his 2-year minimum sentence.
Pletzner was convicted of negligent homicide in a crash that killed Kathleen Barrett in January 2007. Her husband, Jeffrey Barrett, tells the Keene Sentinel he and his children feel like they are being victimized again. He plans to fight to keep Pletzner in prison.
Corrections Commissioner William Wrenn will have the final say.
