Mora is a Rhode Island native who began painting in that state as a hobby. Her love for painting originated in a decorative style, but quickly grew as she discovered other ways to create art. She has been guided on her journey through the teachings of many artists such as Jo Miller, Deanne Fortnum, Barbara Wilcox and Peggy Harris. 

Mora’s eagerness to learn soon led her into the world of fine art. She furthered her studies under the tutelage of instructors including Koo Schadler, Michael Ranucci and Sister Joel. Mora brought her love for art — along with her family — to Maine in 2006, and resides in Norway

In addition to the exhibit, gallery-goers will experience the live acoustic music of Brad Hooper. Hooper has just released his first solo album, “Midnight at the Hilltop Hotel,” a compilation of original songs that have been around for as long as 20 years. The songs reference the small-town working man’s stories in an edgy, often brutally honest venue. Reviewers are comparing his work to artists such as John Prine, Arlo Guthrie and Steve Earl. Brad will be selling and signing CDs after the show.

The event is free and open to the public. The exhibit and sale will continue at Frost Farm Gallery through Saturday, Aug.29. First Friday art openings at Frost Farm Gallery are in conjunction with the Matolcsy Arts Center, the Commons Art Collective, McLaughlin Garden, Norway Memorial Library and Painted Mermaid Gallery.
