LEWISTON — Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice (AHCH) is offering several programs this fall to provide information and support to adults and youth in central and western Maine grieving the death of a loved one.
Program sessions help participants understand the grief process, share feelings and experiences and find hope and comfort. All programs are led by trained bereavement volunteers and/or professional grief facilitators and are offered at no cost to participants.
The following sessions have been scheduled:
Lewiston/Auburn
Adults: “Bereavement after Suicide,” eight weeks, Sept. 21 to Nov. 9, Mondays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Requires preregistration.
“Guidance through Grief,”
eight weeks, Sept. 22 to Nov. 10,
Tuesdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. or 6 to 7:30 p.m. Requires preregistration; co-sponsored with Central Maine Medical Center.
Children: “Program for Grieving Children and Teens,” 10 weeks, Sept. 8 to Nov. 10, Tuesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. Requires preregistration for youth ages 3 to 18; co-sponsored by St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Franklin Community Health Network.
Oxford Hills
Adults: “Pathways through Grief,” eight weeks, Sept. 23 to Nov. 11,
Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Requires preregistration.
Lakes Region
Adults: “Pathways through Grief,” eight weeks, Sept. 23 to Nov. 11, Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Wilton/Farmington area
Adults: “Pathways through Grief,” eight weeks, Sept. 22 to Nov. 10, Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Requires preregistration.
Children: “Program for Grieving Children and Teens,” eight weeks, Sept. 9 to Oct. 28,
Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. Requires preregistration; for youth ages 3 to 18; co-sponsored by St .Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Franklin Community Health Network.
Rumford
Children: “Program for Grieving Children and Teens,” eight weeks, Sept. 10 to Oct. 29, Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. Requires preregistration; for youth ages 3 to 18; co-sponsored by St .Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Franklin Community Health Network.
