DEAR SUN SPOTS: My husband and I are getting ready to sell our house to move to assisted living. We’ve given a lot of our possessions to charity, but I forgot that we have memorable slides about family events, and we gave away our slide projector. We are willing to pay a reasonable price and pick it up. Please call 784-8119. Thanks. — No Name, No Town

ANSWER: If readers are unable to help, slide projectors are still available in a few stores — although they seem to be a bit pricey. If you have online access, they sell them on amazon.com as well. There are also some good deals on eBay and craigslist.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for this wonderful column. Despite the wholesale shift to digital photography, I still need slide film. The Wal-Mart, K-Mart, CVS and Rite Aid stores no longer carry the film. Photo Finish in the mall has stopped carrying the film. Does any store in the Lewiston-Auburn area carry slide film? — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER: It’s not looking good. Sun Spots is also still carrying around her film camera and has noted the death of supplies and developers. She uses a through-the-mail supplier for her prints and film, but they don’t offer slide film either. An online search revealed slide film for sale at photo.net, amazon.com and other by-mail services. Perhaps readers will know of a local source.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The In His Name Food Pantry would like to send a thank-you for all the great responses we received from our ad. We had so many calls about refrigerators and freezers we could not take them all. Thank you to everyone and God Bless. — Lynn Casavant, director

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you have any information on the man who has been standing at the intersection between Wal-Mart and Kohl’s for several weeks asking for donations because he lost everything in a fire? Thank you. — No Name, Lewiston

ANSWER: Sun Journal reporters have approached him and offered to tell his story, but at this point he has declined to do so. Perhaps he will change his mind as it gets colder standing outside!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone know where my hair stylist, Diane Bryant at JCPenney, has moved to? I called, but they would not tell me. She’s been my stylist or years. I know she didn’t stop or move to a new town. — Connie, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are hopping Sun Spots can help us. We are a group of ladies who get together and do puzzles in the Lisbon area. We are trying to find more puzzles because we have put together all that we have. We would be happy to exchange or pick up any puzzles you may have on hand (300 to 1,000 pieces). If anyone can help, please call 353-6637. Thank you. — No Name, No Town
