The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held April 3, the Saturday before Easter Sunday. The River Valley Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Mexico Fire Department, will fill 220 baskets for kids ages 2-12. The goodies for the baskets are provided by area businesses with $10 donations. All are welcome to contribute to this wonderful event.
Volunteers will hide eggs throughout the towns of Byron, Canton, Carthage, Dixfield, Hanover, Mexico, Roxbury, Rumford and Peru for the 7-12 age group. The volunteers will hide the other half of the eggs behind the Mexico Fire Station for the 2-6 year olds. The brigades will be stuffed full of parents and children waiting to find their prize. At 9 a.m. sharp, the fire whistle will ring and children, parents and grandparents will be searching all over the place.
We encourage you to participate in either volunteering for this event or sponsoring a basket for $10. We are very thankful for all our volunteers and sponsors – they are the ones that make this event a success!
