Sporting sunglasses

: The Lisbon Historical Society met on Jan. 13 with antiques brought in to display for the evening. Many cherished keepsakes were on display, including an antique pair of sunglasses brought in by society member and former Lisbon High School English teacher Merton Ricker and a couple of butter presses from years ago. Ricker is pictured wearing the sunglasses. The society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the MTM Center, Rooms 5 and 6, 18 School St. Merton Ricker will give a presentation on Valentine customs celebrated throughout the years in many parts of the world. Everyone is encouraged to bring a homemade Valentine to swap with a fellow member or guest. A social with Valentine treats will be held after the meeting.
