Alphonse G. Mercier
RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for Alphonse G. Mercier was celebrated Monday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Gift bearers were his granddaughters Stephanie Turner and Amy Levesque. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Because the Lord is My Shepherd,” “You Raise Me Up,” “Be Not Afraid” and “Fly Like A Bird.” Readings were done by Arita Zitoli. The eulogy was given by Doris Bourret. Pallbearers were Theresa Fraser, Maurice Fraser, Ryan Young, Scott Turner, Heidi Merrill and James Carey. Military Honors were rendered by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program, Augusta. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. A reception followed in the parish hall. Services were under the care of SG Thibault Funeral Home.
