PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Maine Gov. John Baldacci says he’s supporting New Hampshire’s efforts to secure federal stimulus funding to replace the Memorial Bridge connecting both states.
As far as providing state funds for the bridge, a Baldacci spokesman tells Foster’s Daily Democrat that Maine will await the results of a study, to be released in August, before making that decision.
Gov. John Lynch said Wednesday he is pleased to have Baldacci’s support. He said the 10-year-transportation plan he recently signed into law includes state funding to start the project.
