PORTLAND — The Maine Cancer Foundation is seeking nominations for its 2010 breast cancer contributor awards to be presented at its ninth annual Cure Breast Cancer for ME luncheon scheduled for Monday, Oct. 4, at the Holiday Inn By the Bay.
The luncheon honors individuals in communities who have made significant contributions to breast cancer care, education, research and support. Award nominations are accepted from neighbors, co-workers, local businesses and health care practices.
Nominations are being accepted for the Outreach and Education Award, Medical Care and Research Award, Grassroots Advocate Award, The Meredith Burgess Spirit of Life Award and Lifetime Inspiration Award.

The Cure Breast Cancer for ME luncheon raises funds for the Maine Cancer Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Fund. The foundation established the fund In 2001 to ensure that each year grant funds are available for research, education and patient support programs for breast and other cancers that affect women.
