MACHIAS, Maine (AP) — A Maine man accused of scamming customers attempting to buy his baseball cards and other merchandise online is going to prison for three years.

David Anderson, who’s 66, was sentenced Tuesday in Washington County Superior Court under an agreement in which he pleaded guilty to theft by deception.

Prosecutor Paul Cavanaugh says the Machias man offered up for sale items including a large collection of baseball cards he had inherited from his father. Cavanaugh says customers complained between 2001 and 2005 of not receiving items, or that items were not in the described condition.
