CROTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say high winds reaching 70 mph knocked over three barns Wednesday at Ohio’s largest egg farm, killing two workers.

Ohio Department of Agriculture spokesman Bill Schwaderer says two construction workers who were laying concrete blocks at Ohio Fresh Eggs were killed in one of the barns. Three others escaped with minor injuries.

Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp blames the collapses on high winds. The National Weather Service says the area was hit by a line of strong thunderstorms with winds estimated at about 60 to 70 mph.

The barns in Croton are about 25 miles northeast of Columbus.
