RUMFORD — Due to continuing budget limitations, Rumford District Court will be closed to the public from 1 to 3 p.m. on the following days when court is not in session:

Friday, Aug. 6; Thursday, Aug. 12; Friday, Aug. 13; Monday, Aug. 23; Friday, Aug. 27; Tuesday, Aug. 31; and Friday, Sept. 3.

On all other work days, the office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Public hours have been reduced since last month because there isn’t enough employees to handle the needs of the public eight hours a day, five days a week.

Normally, the Rumford office has a clerk and two assistants working, but now they are down to a clerk and one assistant, and cannot fill the vacancy yet.
