LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Rita Landry was celebrated by the Rev. Nathan March Tuesday at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. At the entrance to church, Rita’s children draped their mother’s casket with the baptismal pall signifying her baptism to a new life. Granddaughter, Kim Kelly proclaimed the first reading, and Robin Bosse, wife of Rita’s grandson, Scott recited the prayer of the faithful. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by grandaughter, Leah Landry and Barry Kelly, a husband to one of Rita’s grandaughters. During the service, Rita’s great-grandson, Nick Kelly served as altar server for his great-grandmother’s funeral Mass. After a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Father March recited committal prayers along with Deacon Earl Meyrick, and the committal services ended with a poem recited by Lisa Plourde, a wife of one of Rita’s grandsons. Pallbearers were Dale, Jason, and Jacob Plourde, Scott and Cameron Bosse as well as David Landry. At the conclusion of services, all were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
