FARMINGTON — Seven months after a fire extensively damaged the east wing of the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center, hospital officials have announced that Franklin Health Pediatrics, Surgery and Urology will reoccupy their offices in the center on Sept. 13.
A health facilities specialist for the medical division of Licensing and Regulatory Services of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and local code enforcement officials have all inspected the east wing and given the green light to reoccupy it.
Also affected by office relocations last February was Franklin Health Child & Adolescent Pediatrics and Dr. Iris Silverstein. Its offices were moved to a different location in the Mt. Blue Health Center to accommodate the displaced Franklin Health Surgery’s need for clinical space. Dr. Silverstein and her colleagues will also reopen in their original offices during the week of Sept. 13.
The 58,000-square-foot Medical Arts Center also houses Franklin Health Women’s Care, Orthopaedics, and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Health information management is located on the ground level.
