Welcome to Game 1 of the 2010-11 season for the Lewiston Maineiacs. Fiollow along here all night for live game updates.

9:01 p.m. – The second period and intermission have passed us by here, and we’re almost ready for the third. Lewiston continues to lead 4-1. The Maineiacs are 0-for-5 on the PP, with Rimouski in at 1-for-5.

8:20 p.m. – Lewiston and Rimouski back to action in the second period, and the Oceanic will get a quick power play on a tripping call to Matthew Bissonnette. The Maineiacs dominated the shots in the first period, 16-8. Lewiston continues to lead, 4-1.

8:06 p.m. – Lewiston carries a 4-1 advantage into the first break. Slow-moving first frame, but a lucrative one for the home team. Critchlow and Brodeur have a pair of goals each as linemates.

7:51 p.m. – Lewiston now on top 4-1 after a pair of goals from Brodeur’s linemate, Cameron Critchlow. Third line has all four goals, and the Maineiacs are absolutely dominating the shorthanded Oceanic.

7:29 p.m. – Lewiston back to shorthanded for a second time, but not before scoring another goal. Brodeur hits again, this time on a rare shorthanded breakaway to put Lewiston on top, 2-0. Then, on the PP, Rimouski scores on a blast from the point that squirts 5-hole on the PP set from Kavanagh. Lewiston now leads, 2-1.

7:20 p.m. – The puck drops on the season, and the Maineiacs waste little time getting on the board. Brodeur from Critchlow and Henley, and it’s already 1-0 Lewiston.

7:17 p.m. – Moe Morin anthems dredged up from the past. Classy move from the Maineiacs.

7:11 p.m. – LONG pregame ceremony, recognizing every sponsor the team has, while all the players stand around. Small gaffe as the team almost forgot to announce Antoine Houde-Caron.

6:52 p.m. – QWarmups are completed and the late-arriving crowd is actually that…late-arriving. The doors are still full with people arriving to the rink. Two ice makers circle the rink as the teams prepare in the locker rooms. Ernie Gagne listing all of the scratches. Hope he has enough breath. There are a lot of them, both sides.

6:30 p.m. – Slow-arriving crowd tonight to greet the Maineiacs out of the tunnel for their first warmups. The game-ops staff has done a remarkable job cobbling things together on short notice, and there is even a Mustang on the line in Score-O tonight. Rosters have been posted and are as follows:
