LIVERMORE FALLS – Two people were injured Tuesday after a car stopped for a school bus and was rear-ended on Main Street, police Lt. Thomas Gould said.
Officer Vernon Stevens and Gould responded to the accident in front of Motor Supply at about 2:19 p.m.
Rhonda Alley, 44, of Jay, operating a 2002 Chrysler, had stopped her car for a school bus when it was struck from behind by a 1998 Saturn driven by Caroline Mayo, 82, of Wilton, Gould said.
Livermore Falls firefighters and emergency medical responders removed Alley from her vehicle and she was transported by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington with possible neck injuries, Gould said.
Mayo was treated by the ambulance crew for possible chest injuries at the scene and released, he said.
Alley’s car sustained $600 damage; Mayo’s, $3000.
