- Gardeners Dell and Dorita Downes of Farmington and University of Maine Cooperative Extension agriculturist David Fuller sample late-blight-resistant tomatoes and potatoes from an Extension garden in Chesterville. The taste test was held at the Extension office at 138 Pleasant St. in Farmington. Late blight, a plant disease, decimated home and commercial gardens in Maine last year with losses estimated at $1 million, Fuller said.
