LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Normand R. Dallaire was celebrated by the Rev. Nathan March Wednesday at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.

At the beginning of Mass, Norm’s wife, Betty, draped her husband’s casket with the burial pall, which commemorates Norm’s birth into a new life with God. Readings were read by Norm’s nieces, Diane Precopio and Monita Obie, who also both brought the offertory gifts to the altar before communion. Norm’s sister-in-law, Lorraine Obie sang the “Ava Maria,” as the communion psalm.

Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Rev. March recited committal prayers. Following prayers, the U.S. Army Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Norm’s wife, Betty, in recognition of her husband’s service to our country during the Cold War. The pallbearers were Al Martin, Gerry Letourneau, Bob Mocciola, Arthur Obie, Paul Perron, and Bob Letourneau. At the conclusion of services, all were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn, in Lewiston. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
