Fortin and Sarrazin were honored by the Police Department and the city of Lewiston. Mayor Laurent Gilbert, center back, made the presentation to Fortin for his work in starting a basketball league and to Sarrazin for her efforts in organizing a litter cleanup campaign. Resource Officer Craig Johnson, left, said violent crime in the community had decreased 40 percent because of citizen involvement.
