FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners will consider making a change to the county’s parking ordinance Tuesday to authorize the county to have a vehicle towed if it has three or more unpaid parking tickets.
The commissioners’ meeting is at 9 a.m. Oct. 5 at the county courthouse.
The current language only states that a vehicle that has three or more unpaid parking tickets may not park in any of the parking areas owned by Franklin County until the parking tickets have been paid, county custodian Greg Roux said.
The new language would allow the county to remove from the county premises or parking any abandoned vehicle or a vehicle that has three or more unpaid parking tickets. The vehicles would be towed at the owner’s expense, Roux said.
