LEWISTON — The investigation into a weekend fight that claimed the lives of two Lewiston men who stabbed each other is now in the hands of the Maine State Police.
Sgt. Marc Robitaille of the Lewiston Police Department said that the investigation into the events that led up to the early morning fight between Alfred Jermaine Kelly, 29, and Bobbie Lee “Bootsy” Evans, 32, was turned over to the state police because it is a homicide.
The fight between Kelly and Evans broke out at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at an apartment on Blake Street. Both men died within minutes of the altercation. Autopsies are scheduled to be performed Tuesday by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
