LISBON — A 26-year-old Bath man who escaped in handcuffs from sheriff’s deputies outside Sagadahoc County Superior Court on Friday was arrested at a Lisbon Falls residence at around noon Saturday.
Rayon Wilson escaped from the Bath courthouse after being convicted of domestic abuse.
On Saturday, Lisbon police and members of the Central Maine Violent Crimes Task Force, acting on a tip, converged on a Frost Hill Avenue home, police Sgt. Scott Stewart said.
When authorities arrived, Wilson, no longer in cuffs, ran from the rear of the building, Stewart said. Wilson was ordered to stop, and when he didn’t, the Lisbon police dog was “set on him, taking him to the ground,” the sergeant said.
After being checked by local emergency medical technicians, Wilson was turned over to Sagadahoc sheriff’s deputies.
Lisbon police charged Wilson with refusal to submit to arrest. He is to appear in 8th District Court in Lewiston on Dec. 1.
The occupant of the home, Errol Blake, 46, was arrested by Lisbon police on a charge of hindering apprehension. He was later released on $250 bail with a Nov. 17 court date, Stewart said.
Wilson was being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail Saturday night, a jail spokesman said.
