LITCHFIELD — Members of the Maine Modern Woodmen of America Chapter 13000 recently helped raise $5,000 for the Litchfield Food Bank by hosting a raffle at the Litchfield Fair.
Proceeds from the event, held in September, included $2,500 matched by Modern Woodmen’s home office through the organization’s Matching Fund program. The money will be used to stock the food bank’s shelves.
These fundraising projects contribute more than $6.5 million to community needs nationwide each year. Modern Woodmen is a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society that sells life insurance, annuity and investment products. Annually, Modern Woodmen and its members provide more than $23 million and nearly 1 million volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
