LEWISTON — Police were searching for a masked man who attempted to rob a woman on Lisbon Street late Friday night.

The incident was reported at about 9:30 p.m. when a woman reported she was approached by a man who demanded money, police said. No weapon was displayed and no money was handed over.

It happened on the lower end of Lisbon Street, near Main Street. Police on both sides of the river fanned out in search of the culprit who remained at large later in the evening.

Police said the suspect was described as slightly more than 6 feet tall and wearing a ski mask. Anyone with information is asked to call Lewiston police.
