LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating a break-in at J.P.’s Corner Store between 7 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 a.m. Monday, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
Entrance was gained by breaking a window at the convenience store located at the corner of Church, Pleasant and Baldwin streets, he said.
An estimated 135 packs of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money were stolen, Steward said.
Lt. Thomas Gould was conducting interviews Monday with witnesses and suspects.
Police were notified of the burglary at 5:35 a.m. The store was closed at 7 p.m. the night before, Steward said.
In another incident, police are investigating the theft of a 4- by 8-foot piece, 3/8-inch-thick stainless steel plate from a Campground Road property. The owner reported the steel stolen Friday, Steward.
The steel is valued at $1,500, he said.
