Committee assignments
Issue: Michael Tardy, David Marsters and Mindy Dudley were appointed to the Ordinance Review Committee. That body is now full.
Issue: Dudley was also appointed to the Comprehensive Plan Committee, which is now full. Selectmen voted to have Town Manager Rick Bates sign a contract with the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments for $7,500 in work helping to update the comprehensive plan.
Nearly budget time again
Issue: Before too long it will be time to start work on the 2012 budget.
The scoop: Selectmen told Bates that they’d like the tax rate to stay the same or drop. It’s currently $14.15.
Up next: Bates said he’ll “work towards keeping the mill rate down,” according to the town clerk.
Office closed
Issue: The Town Office will close Dec. 23, 24 and 31 for the holidays.
Issue: The transfer station will close Dec. 25 but stay open Dec. 26 and on New Year’s Day.
