AUBURN – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Betsy Baird Sadler was celebrated by the Reverend Frank Murray Thursday morning at St. Philip’s Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
At the entrance to the church Betsy’s sons, Jim and Paul Sadler, draped their mother’s casket with the white Baptismal pall that signifies Betsy’s birth into a new life with God. Both the New and Old Testament readings as well as the Prayer of the Faithful were recited by Betsy’s brother, David Baird. The Offertory Gifts were brought to the altar by Betsy’s sister, Anne Drouin, and Betsy’s brother, Jeffrey Baird. Before the conclusion of Mass, Betsy’s sister, Anne, recited the poem, “Miss Me But Let Me Go.”
Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Father Murray recited committal prayers, and all were then invited to a reception of fellowship at the home of Pat Crowell in Lewiston. The pallbearers were DJ Goodwin, Corey Crowell, Ron Eugley, Rene Sheltre, Jim Grenier, and Rick Hester. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
