DIXFIELD — The following incidents were handled recently by the Dixfield Police Department.
Vandalism
An Ellis Street resident reported at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 18 that someone had apparently loosened the lug nuts on the wheels of her vehicle sometime the night before the incident was reported. As she was turning onto Weld St., the right rear tire fell off. She was not injured. She told police that she had been plagued by a series of minor vandalism incidents. Police have a suspect.
A Blayne Street resident reported at 2 p.m. Dec. 22 that someone had used a heavy metal implement to destroy his mailbox.
Thefts
A Bullrock Lane resident reported at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 22 that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and stole the vehicle’s operator’s manual and an unspecified amount of loose change. The incident apparently occurred between 9 p.m. the night before, and 4:30 a.m.
Police believe another attempted theft from a vehicle is connected. A nearby Bullrock Lane resident reported that when he went outside to a vehicle around 9 p.m. Dec. 21, he believes he scared off a potential thief when he discovered the door on another vehicle ajar and the interior light still on.
Criminal speed
Jessica Coffin, 33, of Mexico, received a criminal speeding summons at 9:44 a.m. Dec. 18 on Route 2 in East Dixfield. Criminal speed means the driver was driving 30 miles or more over the posted speed limit. She is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Feb. 1.
