RUMFORD — A Bridgton man is accused of sexual assault and terrorizing at a Rumford motel.
On Sunday, Michael J. Macut, 29, was charged with gross sexual assault, aggravated domestic assault and domestic terrorizing with a dangerous weapon. Rumford police say Macut attacked his victim with a knife.
According to a press release, at 3:54 a.m. Officer Joseph Sage and Cpl. Lawrence Winson arrested Macut at the Linnell Motel at 196 Prospect Ave.
Macut was taken to Oxford County jail in Paris where his bail was set at $8,000. He had not posted bail as of Tuesday afternoon. He is set to appear in an Oxford County court on Feb. 8.
