Arrests
RUMFORD — Unless otherwise noted, the following are to be arraigned on Feb. 8 in Rumford District Court:
* Thomas Taylor, 49, Rumford, domestic assault, 2:27 a.m. Dec. 26 on Maine Avenue. He was released on $699 unsecured bail.
* Doreen Vlk, 50, Brimfield, Mass., operating under the influence, 8:52 p.m. Dec. 21 on Route 2. She posted $2,000 unsecured bail and will be arraigned on March 8 in Rumford District Court.
Accidents
* Dec. 24, 10:35 a.m. — A 2000 Chrysler driven west on Maine Avenue by Doris Amburg, 68, of Farmington, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 2004 Volvo driven by Barry Miller, 51, of Rumford. Miller was driving north on Hancock Street with passenger Pamela Miller, 48, of Rumford. Amburg’s car went through the intersection, made a U-turn and then a left turn onto the sidewalk, damaging a fence, stop sign, street sign, and a Central Maine Power utility pole. The Chrysler then traveled back onto the road and struck a 2007 Toyota driven by Trina A. Fortin, 52, of Rumford. There were no injuries. Amburg’s Chrysler and Miller’s Volvo each sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage; and the Toyota, $500.
* Dec. 23, 10:25 p.m. — Melissa Sessions, 38, of West Paris, lost control of a 1994 Mercury Sable in blowing snow that covered the roadway. She was driving north on Route 232 near the Androscoggin River bridge when she went off the road. A Maine State Police trooper came upon the accident and alerted Rumford police. Sessions, who complained of neck pain, was taken by Med-Care Ambulance to Rumford Hospital. There was no damage to the Mercury.
