NEWRY — In collaboration with OutRyders, a New England gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender ski and snowboard club, Sunday River Ski Resort will host White Out Weekend next month.

Resort spokeswoman Darcy Morse said Thursday that the ski area will dedicate four days to the gay and lesbian community Feb. 10-13.

“This will be the first year for this event, but it has been something we’ve been looking into for sometime now,” Morse said.

“We wanted to make sure that we were working with a really well-known, reputable group such as OutRyders first, and with that in place, we’re really excited to turn this into an annual event,” she said.

“The weekend features ‘drag’ races where skiers and riders can showcase their divine selves, après rendezvous get-togethers, an ’80s dance party, and an Angels and Demons party with Provincetown’s D.J. Maryalice at The Peak Lodge,” Morse said.

Other activities over that weekend include 12-hour skiing and riding on Feb. 11 and 12, Zipline Tours and fireworks.
