Last week’s results: Asked whether last week was good for sledding and skiing, the Farmer’s Almanac and Stormy were once again predicting stormy weather.

Both missed it.

According to the Weather Underground, the week was mostly sunny and averaged 31 degrees. An inch of snow fell in most areas on Saturday night, but it seemed rather unstormy.

Will the weather be clear enough to let us rake the roof or will more snow send us up there with a shovel?

The choices:  a) Use the rake, sunny and mild b) Hurry, the snow is falling fast c) Ignore it, the snow is melting

The Farmer’s Almanac: grab the roof rake, but be careful. Forecast calls for “unsettled” weather

Stormy’s Furcast:  Hurry, the snow is falling fast

Stormy’s Furcast is a winter-long series testing the weather predictions of the good-natured folks at the nearly-200-year-old Farmers’ Almanac against an equally good-natured fox who lives at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray. The almanac is based on science and secret formulas. The fox makes her pick choosing from three piles of food. Each week, a new question and the previous week’s results. May the best forecaster, or furcaster, win.
