LEWISTON — The city of Lewiston has instituted a parking ban starting at 11 p.m. Tuesday and lasting through 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3.

The ban applies to all streets in the city. Municipal parking garages will be available for residents to park cars at no charge between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Vehicles parked in violation of the ban will be subject to risk of immediate towing, at the owner’s expense.

Auburn School Committee not meeting

The City of Auburn is instituting a parking ban that will begin on Wednesday at 7 a.m. and will remain in effect until 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Due to the impending winter storm event the City of Auburn will not be collecting recycling on Wednesday, but household trash will be collected as normal, please have trash at curbside by 7 a.m.

Androscoggin County Superior Court will be closed Wednesday due to the storm.

Auburn School Committee Wednesday night meeting called off

Because of the “forecast of a blockbuster snow storm” on Wednesday, the Wednesday night meeting of the Auburn School Committee will not be held. Instead of rescheduling, the committee’s next meeting on Feb. 16 will take up the agenda items that were scheduled for Feb. 2, according to the Auburn School Department.

Greene Family Literacy Night cancelled

GREENE — The Family Literacy Night that was scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight, Feb. 1, at the Greene Central School has been called off, as has all after-school activities. It has not yet been rescheduled.

RUMFORD — A scheduled River Valley Growth Council meeting set for Wednesday has been cancelled.

Mexico town office closes

MEXICO — The Mexico Town office will be closed on Feb. 2. A special meeting set for that night has also been cancelled.

 PARIS – The Paris Town Office will be closed on February 2.

NORWAY – The Norway Town Office will be closed on February 2.
