Pomona Grange meeting

WALES — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, March 2, at Wales Grange for a 6:30 p.m. supper. The program at 7:30 will feature Dr. John Reeder, who will speak on the annual L/A Balloon Festival. There will be a 50/50 raffle and an attendance drawing. The business meeting will follow the program. All members and guests are invited.

New Auburn Seniors resume meetings

AUBURN — The New Auburn Seniors will meet at noon on Wednesday, March 2, followed by lunch and bingo.

Virginia Levasseur, president, reminds members to be prepared to purchase dinner tickets for Wednesday, March 16. Dinner will consist of corned beef, cabbage, carrots and dessert. The price is $4.

Meetings and dinners start at noon.

Open bingo for members 60 and older will be held March 9, 23 and 30. All activities are held in the St. Louis Church Hall.

Paul Fortier Chapter

LEWISTON — The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52 of the Royal Arcanum-ACA Division will gather at 6 p.m. Monday, March 7, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center. Following the monthly business meeting there will be a social hour with refreshments served by Aliette and Ron Couturier.

Lewiston Seniors

LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens will hold their membership meeting at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, March 7. A lunch featuring Rolly’s beef stew will be served at 12:30 for members who purchase tickets by March 1.

Haiti trip

LEWISTON — South Lewiston Baptist Church is again assembling a team of 15 local people to go to Port au Prince, Haiti, from April 7-15. The main purpose is to continue building their sister church/school in Bethany Village.

Members of the team will include Mayor Larry Gilbert, Peter Geiger and Pastor Bryan Church. The team intends on bringing 200 bibles for those people who have lost all of their possesions in the earthquake.

Donations for the building fund may be made out to SLBC and mailed to 39 Dyer Road, Lewiston, ME 04240. Bottles donations for the South Lewiston Baptist Church/Haiti fund can be brought to Roopers on Sabattus Street.

Lenten program begins

MECHANIC FALLS — The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Lenten scripture study and discussion program will begin Monday, March 7, and run through Friday, April 15.

Small groups of eight to 10 people will meet once a week. They will discuss the scripture readings for Lent in light of commentary and discussion questions from the Rev. Clement Thibodeau’s “Echoing God’s Word” series.

The groups will meet at a variety of day and evening times at locations in and near Our Lady of Ransom and at St. Catherine’s, Norway. For more information, contact Elaine at the parish office, 743-2606.

DAR group to meet

LIVERMORE — The Mary Dillingham Chapter DAR will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at the Pike’s Corner Oasis, routes 106 and 133.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Feb. 24 were:
