FARMINGTON — A local man was arrested on a felony drug charge on Tuesday after police executed a search warrant at a downtown residence.

Drew Serdakowski, 20, of 110 Maiden Lane was charged with aggravated trafficking in marijuana, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Supervisor Gerry Baril said Thursday.

The agency acted on confidential information it received that Serdakowski was dealing from an apartment near Meetinghouse Park on Main Street, he said.

Drug agents, Farmington and University of Maine at Farmington police discovered about 1¼ ounces of marijuana, digital scales and other associated items at the apartment, Baril said.

The reason the charge is aggravated is because the Parkside Building, where the apartment is located, is next to the park and within a safe zone outlined in an ordinance of the town, Baril said.

Serdakowski was released on $150 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in a Farmington court on June 24.
