College planning

WILTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will be hosting free workshops for adults 19 and over entitled “Essentials of College Planning” at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, at the Wilton Career Center, 865 US Rte. 2E.

This free interactive workshop outlines the four steps in the college process: admission, financial aid, career planning and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately 2-3 hours. Preregistration is required.

Chowder luncheon

FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks Union Church will hold a fish chowder luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 15. The luncheon includes chowder, biscuit, pickles, cheese, dessert and coffee/tea beverage. For local delivery (within five miles of the church), call the church, 778-4705. The donation for the luncheon is $6.

Grange open house

EAST DIXFIELD — An open house will be held at Mystic Valley Grange on Saturday, April 16. A public buffet will be served at noon and the community service award will be presented at 1 p.m. There will be door prizes and entertainment. All are welcome. For more information, call 645-2423.

Scholarship auction

WILTON — A Wilton scholarship auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Academy Hill School. Auctioneer will be Emma Mosher. There will be free homemade desserts, a Hideki Okajima autographed baseball and an Austin Ainge autographed yearbook.

Auction donations are welcome. Call 645-3894 for information or pickup. All proceeds will benefit the Wilton Scholarship Foundation.

WILTON — Book sale to benefit the Wilton Free Public Library will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Western Maine Expo Center, 128 Weld St. This is a big sale with something for everyone. Books are not priced, but donations can be made according to the wish and ability of the buyer. For more information, call the library at 645-4831.

Masonic supper

WILTON — There will be a Public Masonic Supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Building, 80 Bryant Road, East Wilton. The menu will consist of baked ham, potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, homemade pies and beverages. $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Legion supper

LIVERMORE FALLS — George Bunten Post 10, American Legion,will host a public supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the post home, 17 Reynolds Ave. Menu includes homemade baked beans, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, shepherd’s pie, coleslaw, chicken stir fry, pasta surprise, biscuits, desserts and more. Adults $7, children under 13 $4. 

The post recently had to install a new furnace, oil tank and chimney. They are selling raffle tickets for two raffles. Winners will be drawn at the Apple Pumpkin Festival Sept. 24.
