Readers Theater at WLU
AUBURN — The Woman’s Literary Union will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St. The entertainment for the evening will be a Readers Theater presentation with Hugh Keene and Barbara Randall in “Plaza Suite.” Hospitality for the evening will be provided by Beth Ayotte. Refreshments will be served and the public is welcome.
‘Barnologist’ to speak
NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, next to the town hall on Rte. 231. Don Perkins, local reporter and noted “barnologist,” will give an illustrated talk titled “Our Barns: A History of the Barns of Maine.”
Perkins’ talk will include dozens of barn photos of the local area and will include a history of farming in Maine and the large number of influences on changing barn design.
The public is invited. Refreshments will be served. Society members will hold a business meeting following the program.
Grange Month
NEW GLOUCESTER — Sabbathday Lake Grange #365 will celebrate Grange Month at the annual open house at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22.
Grange members are asking the community to help find a deserving individual or group from Gray, New Gloucester or Raymond to honor with a Community Citizen Award. Past honorees have included Howard & Eileen Stiles of Raymond, Gray Boy Scouts, Friends of the Gray Animal Farm, the Opportunity Farm and Open Gates Equine Rescue Inc.

Easter Cantata
LISBON — The Open Door Bible Baptist Church choir will present the Easter Cantata “I Know My Redeemer Lives” at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, at the church, 26 Gartley St.
