FARMINGTON — The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area invites the community to attend Synergy: A Festival of Philanthropy at Titcomb Mountain in Farmington on May 7.

The fundraiser event will run from 4 p.m. to midnight and feature a free barbecue from 5 to 6:30 p.m.. There will be interactive art and a scavenger hunt where teams of four will compete for prizes and participate in geocaching and other interactive activities with United Way partners. Central to the event will also be a bonfire, and live bands. Those include  CatchaVibe This, an 11-member Bar Harbor-based reggae band; The Delta Roots from Farmington with a free-flowing sound based in the blues; Nigel’s Thornberry’s rock jam band of UMF students; The Running Gags, a rock band that started with three songwriters in Windham; Grand Hotel that recently released a self-titled debut featuring Indie pop rock numbers.

This is an 18 and over event, and LaFleur’s Restaurant will be providing beverage service for those over 21 after 8 p.m. Identification will be required. No alcohol may be brought onto the premises.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate. Tickets may be purchased online at uwtva.org, at the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area office at 232 Broadway, Farmington, or at Devaney, Doak and Garrett, Wicked Gelatos, or Tranten’s in Farmington.
