The excellent spirit of good fellowship which exists at the present time between the Bowdoin and Bates college student bodies was well illustrated at City Hall last evening when the glee and mandolin clubs of the two colleges united in giving a concert. The audience was not so large as it should have been, for the excellence of the concert merited a crowded house even in the spacious city hall.

Miss Diane Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fernand Jean of Lewiston, has been appointed general chairman of the annual semi-formal dance to be given Saturday evening at the Sons of Italy Hall by the class of 1961 of St. Mary’s General Hospital School of Nursing.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Sargent will serve as chaparones for the dance. Tickets may be obtained from Miss Jean or any other student nurse at the hospital.

SOUTH PARIS — A Soviet Farm Tour slide show, Norwegian Fjord Horses, an embryo transfer program, an antique orchard, the largest pipelined maple syrup operation in the state, and aerial and turf farming can all be observed May 18 when 19 host farms open their barn doors to the public.
Down On The Farm Day will offer the public the opportunity to visit selected farms and agriculturally oriented businesses. The day has been planned to allow visitors the chance to try to understand the farmers’ goals, problems and joys.
