PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A price-monitoring website has more good news for Maine motorists: another drop in the average price of gasoline.

MaineGasPrices.com says the average retail price in Maine on Monday was $3.81 per gallon. That’s 5.5 cents per gallon lower than it was a week earlier and 12.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. It also marks the second consecutive week in which the average price in Maine has dropped.

The decrease in Maine is consistent with national prices, which have also been dropping.

The picture over the past year isn’t so rosy. Including the change in the gasoline price in Maine during the past week, the price Monday was $1.03 per gallon higher than it was the same day one year ago.
