Jamboree

HEBRON — Hebron Pines Campground annual Country Music Jamboree, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 3, and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 4, on Route 124.

Bands will include The Wildwood Band, “Lolalee” & The Country Bandits (will be on stage Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.), The Wildhorse Band and Dickie Henderson and Friends and more. Food, coffee, soda and water will be available. A bean or chop suey supper with all the fixings will be available for $6. A day pass is $7. Campers and tent sites are available.

Newfoundland Day

NAPLES — The inaugural Newfoundland Day will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the Black Bear Cafe, Route 302. The event will feature Newfoundland cuisine, a screeching in ceremony and giveaways. It will bring people together who are from Newfoundland as well as lots of local Maine people. Ham supper

NORWAY – A traditional Western Maine ham supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St. This is the fifth in the series of “First Friday Fantastic Feasts.” Take out will be available.

The cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under age 10.

The menu will be baked ham, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, homemade breads, cole slaw, salads, homemade dessert, coffee and juice. First Friday Feasts frequently sell out. Proceeds from the supper will benefit the many missions of the Second Congregational Church.

Grief support

NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer a six-week grief support group from 3 to 4:30 p.m. beginning Friday, June 3, in the Harper Conference Center of the Ripley Medical Building.

The group will offer support, information and activities to help group members with their grieving process.

Yard sale

SOUTH PARIS — The Famililes in Crisis Task Force will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4, at The Thrifty gift shop parking lot, 659 Park St., (three miles north from Market Square rotary on Route 26).

Items will include new items, furniture, clothing of all sizes, toys, collectibles and household items. All money raised will support the food pantry.

Plant sale

BETHEL — The 16th annual Bethel Library plant sale will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, on the lawn beside the library at 5 Broad St. The sale takes place rain or shine.

Local gardeners donate weed-free, pesticide-free healthy perennials that have outgrown the space in their gardens. The library is still accepting donations of perennials for the sale.

Youth field day

BRYANT POND — University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center will hold a youth field day Saturday, June 4.

Events scheduled include .22 rifle range, archery, fly-tying and casting, ATV safety, falconer Larry Barnes, backyard bass with Emily Jones from Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and more. Lunch will be provided for a small fee. For information, call 665-2068.

Rescheduled

NORWAY — Responsible Pet Care has rescheduled the annual Spectacular Plant Sale to Saturday, June 4. It will be held at the Norway Town Hall from 9 a.m. to noon. The rainy weather has made it difficult to prepare plants for the sale. The benefit yard sale for Norway Recreation being held at the same time has also been moved to June 4.

SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will have its monthly 1st Saturday Supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4. The meal will be a potluck dinner. Attendees can bring a dish to share or make a donation to benefit the work of the church. The meal is in honor of the men in our lives and will be followed by the annual Vernon Bradeen Hymn Sing. Rhubarb fest

WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold a rhubarb festival from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4, at the church on Main Street.

In addition to the famous rhubarb pies, they will be serve coffee, rhubarb muffins, squares, coffee cake and ice cream with rhubarb sauce. Handmade crafts will be on sale. Weather permitting there will be white elephant tables outside.
