LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Historical Society will feature a guest speaker in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the MTM Center.
Charles W. Plummer, in the persona of Maine’s Civil War hero General Joshua L. Chamberlain, will present an overview of the war from its beginning to its ending.
This one-man drama evokes the emotionalism, heroism and tension of Gen. Chamberlain’s involvement at Antietam, Fredericksburg, Petersburg and Appomattox.
Plummer is a native of Lisbon Falls and a graduate of Lisbon Falls High School. He holds a bachelors degree in education, a masters in administration and supervision, and a doctorate in religious studies and metaphysics. He served as a naval aviator during the Korean War and is a retired elementary school principal and family counselor.
