Rummage sale

WILTON — A community rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the First Congregational Church on Main Street.

Supporters of the “green economy” are recycling and reusing in order to provide fabulous bargains. There will be clean used clothing and household items in good repair.

Donations of items may be brought to the church from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 10.

Plant sale

FARMINGTON — A plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Old South Church, Holman Parish House lawn, Main Street. Proceeds to benefit Franklin Association Honduras Partnership projects.

Census info

FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, MGS, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Farmington Public Library. The program topic will be about the kinds of information that can be found in the Industry and Social census taken with the regular census for the years of 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.

SALEM — The Narrow Gauge String Band will open the summer music season in Salem. They will be at the Salem Pine Tree Club Community Building at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12. A donation box will be at the door and homemade refreshments will be on sale. Hosted by the Salem Pine Tree Club.

Spaghetti supper

CANTON — Whitney Lodge # 167 of Canton will hold a public spaghetti supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Lodge Hall. Donations will be accepted.

Yard sale

SALEM — The Pine Tree Club of Salem will host an indoor yard sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18. Tables are renting for $5 ea. The Pine Tree Club tables will feature puzzles and baked goods. For more information or to rent a table, call Colleen at 678-2011 or April at 678-2874.

ATV safety

JAY — The Jay Police Department will conduct an ATV safety course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Jay Community Building in the basement level. There is no charge to the public for the course.

The class is limited to 15 students. Children 10 to 15 yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult throughout the class. Each student should bring a lunch and a helmet if they have one. The class will be instructed by Cpl. Jeff Fournier and Det. Richard Caton, both state certified ATV instructors. Anyone wishing to take the course may call the Jay Police Department at 897-6766 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
